Summary: Following are the terms of license for this release of JBrute: Version 2.0. These terms apply to you whether or not you register the software. Do not install or use the software if you are not willing to abide by these terms.

1. Trial Period and Registration
This product is copyrighted shareware, not public-domain software. At no charge, you may use it without registering for an evaluation period of 30 days only. To continue to use the software beyond the 30-day evaluation period, you must register it.

Registration involves purchasing a registration number from our web site and entering that number into JBrute. You can purchase on line by credit card or PayPal. Please see the “Register JBrute” link at http://www.jbrute.com.

Note that there is no separate “registered version” (as opposed to “evaluation version”) of the application. If you register the software it will work forever. Otherwise, it will disable after the 30-day evaluation period. It is a violation of this license to attempt to defeat this time-out mechanism. Please don''t do it.
2. Individual Registration
Individual registration at the current price, as shown on the Web site, entitles one user to use the current version of JBrute forever. It also gives priority in response to questions or bug reports.

Feel free to install and register JBrute on multiple computers that you use regularly, provided that no more than one of those computers is in use at any one time and no other person will be making significant use of it on those computers.

3. Redistributing JBrute
You are free to distribute unmodified copies of JBrute, under these conditions:

You must supply either the original MSI archive or the entire unpacked contents of the installed application. If you supply the unpacked contents of the MSI Archive, the files for JBrute must be in a separate subdirectory on the distribution medium.
Your documentation must explain prominently that this is not free software, that a more recent release may be available on line, and that the user must purchase a registration number from JBrute Software, as explained in the program documentation.
You do not distribute a registration number. This is for sale on our web site.
You do not charge money for any compilation (such as a CD-ROM) that includes JBrute.
You may redistribute JBrute under these terms even if you have not registered it yourself.
4. Support for JBrute
Support is available via e-mail at jbrute@jbrute.com. We''re sorry, but at the given fees for registration it is not economical for us to provide phone support.

All registered users: We guarantee that we will respond to the best of our ability, and as promptly as is reasonably possible, to all reasonable queries from registered users.

Unregistered users: We intend to respond to your queries, but we will naturally give priority to registered users.
5. Upgrades to JBrute
Program upgrades We intend to keep JBrute in active development for the foreseeable future but can make no guarantees about this. Since 2007, we''ve averaged one upgrade a about every 9 months. These are announced on our Web page and to our mailing list of registered users.

Suggestions for new features or other improvements will be gratefully received and given careful consideration. When you offer suggestions, you give JBrute Software full permission to make any use of them that we see fit.
7. Warranty for JBrute
We will gratefully receive defect reports related to the software or documentation. Though we certainly intend to fix all reported bugs, we do not guarantee to do so.

The software and documentation for JBrute are offered AS IS and WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY express or implied, including but not limited to warranty of design, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall we be liable for any incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the software or documentation, even if we or our representative have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In no event will our total liability to you for all damages, losses, and causes of action, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, exceed the amount paid by you for the software, exclusive of handling charges, commissions, and currency conversion fees.
8. Controlling Law
This license shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where JBrute Software is located at the time. Any dispute arising out of this license shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts there. (Since March 2007, JBrute Software has been located in Seattle, Washington, USA.)

Any finding by a court that any provision of this license is invalid for a particular jurisdiction shall not affect any other provision of this license.
